When the desires of the client have been met, the Construction Document Phase begins and a final set of plans are prepared and finalized. When finished, the documents are delivered to the client via PDF for approval and authorization for printing. The client then emails their contractors a PDF of the plan for solicitation of bids. Hard copies are then submitted to the local building department to start the permitting process. A 24” x 36” set of construction documents is used on site for the construction of the building. The entire process can take as little as a few weeks, or up to a few months depending on the length of the design phase. Generally speaking, clients prefer to start planning for their project 3 - 6 months before construction begins.
